Lamar CISD has proudly received two outstanding financial recognitions for the 2024 fiscal year. Both achievements highlight Lamar CISD’s commitment to transparency, high-quality financial reporting, and performance.  

  

Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas: Superior Achievement  

On August 5, 2025, TEA released preliminary ratings under the State of Texas financial accountability system. Lamar CISD received a rating of Superior Achievement for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2024. Lamar CISD was recognized for maintaining financial stability and for retaining a healthy fund balance through conservative and strategic financial management.  

  

About School FIRST  

The School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) is a financial accountability system for Texas school districts developed by the Texas Education Agency in cooperation with the State Comptroller's Office.   

Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting  

On August 13, 2025, Lamar CISD was awarded a Certificate of Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2024. The award reflects the district's commitment to the highest school system financial reporting standards. Lamar CISD has been awarded the COE in Financial Reporting for the past twenty-five years.  

  

About ASBO COE Program  

The COE program highlights a school district’s dedication to financial accountability. School districts are reviewed by a panel of experienced financial professionals. Districts that meet the program’s requirements are awarded the Certificate of Excellence, a distinction that also supports bond rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.
